Ib Jorgensen’s gallery in Dublin’s Hibernian Way offers a tempting respite from city-centre business. The older work at the rear can include a classy little oil by Charlie Brady, a sculpture by Cody Swanson, or a gorgeous Camille Souter painting. Jorgensen also gives house room to proven contemporary artists, and to some beginning to build their reputations. The work is always well wrought and professionally presented.

 

Richard Hearns is a young Irish artist who has shown at the RHA and had a couple of solo shows in New York. His new exhibition mainly features elegant still lifes and evocative landscapes painted with an Old Master sensitivity to colour and composition. A couple of ventures into the abstract indicate an artist not sitting still but exploring...
