Richard Zinon: Selected Works

Cadogan Contemporary are excited to announce a solo exhibition of works by British artist Richard Zinon. Trained in Florence, Zinon combines his mastery of traditional techniques with innovative use of colour and form. From a limited palette favouring muted tones, his abstract forms explore light, shadow and depth inspired by the renaissance masters of chiaroscuro.

 His abstract paintings are devoid of any figuration or complex symbolism. Through the direct strength of the brushstrokes, Zinon is able to convey pure emotion, aiming to create something entirely unrestricted by external reference.

“I invite the viewer to be absorbed by giving the opportunity for internal reflection. An intuitive understanding must come before intellectual comprehension. In that sense, the former delves more deeply into the heart of beauty”
