Born in Manchester Deborah Tarr studied painting at the Winchester School of Art, earning her BA in 1988. Since then, her beautifully deigned abstract paintings has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Britain. She has been represented by Cadogan Contemporary Art Gallery London since 2004.
Within her highly developed visual language, Tarr explores the limits of her canvas; each painting is an authentic world of its own. Her contemporary abstract canvases are tangible and conceptual, borne of relationships between colour and texture; they are a forceful reminder of the celebratory power of colour, and its ability to work with subtlety on our spirit and emotions.
