Andrew Johnstone Drawings

29th June - 17th July 2010

Andrew Johnstone’s (British, 1933-2015) work rarely varies from a select series of themes usually from the ancient world and his techniques and idioms often stem from the modern artists he admires: Roger Hilton, Ben Nicholson and William Scott. Every contemporary painting is theme on the one hand and how exactly it is painted what techniques and so on, on the other, with the preference for simplicity.
