Overview

Edoardo Dionea Cicconi is an Italian contemporary artist working with installations, sculptures, sound and other media. Addressing universal themes often in an interactive way, he tries to find a synthesis between art & science, investigating the concept and perception of “time”.
His latest solo-shows were set both in Italian museums/institutions and large scale outdoor installations.

Everything is interconnected. By studying the cosmos, we learn about anatomy, and the other way around. As an artist, My work is dedicated to expressing this concept within a timeless dimension.’

He was the first to showcase a contemporary art installation at the MuMe Museum. Cicconi’s totems were distorting the visitors with two huge Caravaggio’s masterpieces.

This marked the debut show of the 'XYZT' series. Influenced by contemporary physics, the attempt was to summarize the concepts of space (XYZ) and time (T) and establish a dialogue between its phases (past, present, and future) and their changes.

The mirror's surface, straight and sharp, has a peculiarity: at times, it reflected reality by distorting it. The image flexed and then returned to its initial appearance. The works moved, catching the viewer—whose image became distorted, disappeared, and then reappeared—by surprise. Viewers 'disappeared' and blended in with the surrounding space.

Like a sort of black hole, where everything becomes dense inside and where, even today, no one knows where this totality will end up.
