Light Year, encaustic on canvas on panel, 32″ x 50″
American painter Betsy Eby transforms her canvasses by fusing pigments, sap and wax in the ancient tradition of encaustic. Influenced by her deep love and devotion to classical music, Eby’s paintings carry a tenor of theatre within their delicate luminosity.

She and her husband, painter Bo Bartlett, split their time between studios in Columbus, Georgia and on the isolated Wheaton Island, Maine.  Eby’s work has been shown and collected by the Georgia Art Museum and the Columbus museum, among many countless solo exhibitions across the US. Her work is held in notable collections worldwide.
