The May bank holiday and the summer sun finally arriving in London was a perfect reason for a visit to the Royal Academy.
The Summer Exhibition installation was in full swing with this enormous sculpture being winched into place in the courtyard of the RA. By RA elect Conrad Shawcross, I can’t wait to go back and see it completed.
The Richard Diebenkorn exhibition is just finishing but if you can go, I would highly recommend it. It was wonderful to see his earlier work, more frenzied and figurative smoothing into his cool sunlit Ocean Park paintings.
The Royal Academy gives a wonderful background and Five things you need to know about Deibenkorn online which can Read Here
Plus I couldn’t help but notice was a handsome man he was!
